The TUZO Awards celebrate the films, filmmakers and finalists who defined this year’s Watch Africa Film Festival. Winners are chosen by a panel of accomplished filmmakers, critics and cultural leaders — and by you, the audience.

Honouring the most outstanding full-length African film for its storytelling, direction and cultural impact.
Best Documentary
Recognising exceptional nonfiction filmmaking that sheds light on real stories, voices and issues across Africa and its diaspora.
Best Short Film
Celebrating creativity in short-form cinema that captures powerful stories in under 40 minutes.
Audience Choice Award
Chosen by the audience, this award celebrates the film that most resonated with viewers at the festival. Vote by QR code after every finalist screening.
